As a substitute teacher in the US public education system, I have a front line view to the next generation. Over the last year, I have taught every grade level, from kindergarten through 12th grade. It's a wide spectrum of experience and skills needed to navigate the fullness of young people developing in relation to the ever shift and troubled world. I have come to prefer working in the middle schools as I find them to be most receptive to and in need of what I can offer as a teacher (creative discipline with an ethical lens, critical thinking with a systems approach).
Sigma Culture, as I have come to understand it, is highly present in middle school and high school populations, and is closely associated with intense exposure to Internet culture. This is an orientation to Gen Sigma, for parents and educators of this generation.
Generation Sigma (Σigma) stands at the crossroads of profound transformation, shaped by their unique experiences and the complex world they navigate. This generation, growing up amidst the relentless connectivity of the digital age, has faced an unparalleled convergence of challenges and opportunities, defining their character and outlook.
